Medipak has just completed the purchase, installation and testing of a new bottom-seal bag making machine. You start to see small improvements in the UVLI-bag™. Improvements like: a shorter “skirt” on the end of the bag, a more consistent seal, and a more consistent overall bag length. While the improvements are mostly cosmetic, I’m sure the customers will appreciate the changes.

We also had our two lay-flat film extrusion dies refurbished. Gene Moore and his crew at US Die and Mold in Akron OH did a fantastic job. This improvement will allow us to produce film that has fewer streaks and better over-all color dispersion. Since the coloring is more even, we can produce the UVLI-bag™ ever so slightly thinner, which results in a bag that is even easier to see through.

Things are quickly changing at Medipak! When current owner Erick Byrne purchased Medipak at the end of 2009 he knew the future looked bright. “The medical field is always growing, and Medipak was in a perfect position to grow with it.” So with that in my mind, I purchased some new equipment, got some of the older equipment refurbished (more on that in our next blog) and with skilled employees at the ready, I had the website updated (Thanks to JCI Media) and stepped up marketing efforts to push sales even higher. The improvements are paying off! Sales are stronger than 2010 and we just received a tremendous order from one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Medipak has shown that we can move with the speed of our customers!
